General & Others Is Eiichiro Oda a top 3 mangaka?

guess which manga still as a loyal fanbase after 20+ years compared to other good mangas that are not more than 100 or 200 chapters and would fade out after 2 years of its ending or 300+ manga that are on indefinite hiatus( I would rather read an ok manga with an ending that a good manga that would never continue).

Objectively, i find it hard to judge, because i dont like wasting my time thinking through every details of every manga lol, if i find it amusing, then i read/watch it
So personally, i dont have oda as my top 3 mangaka, i would give the spots to HxH's author, Steins Gate's author, and Sangatsu no Lion's author

No, but then again it depends on what do you mean by "top mangaka".
Keeping up the story pretty much constantly since the series started is no easy feat, and for that we all gotta give props to him, i dont remenber One piece EVER having a major break bigger than a month, and even that is pretty rare, sure HxH might be a better written manga overhaul, but that lazy bastard didnt drop a single chapter since idk..2018? Not to mention the constant breaks, sometimes he would even release a chapter looking like absolute garbage just to meet his deadlines.

HxH has the best and most consistent fighting system of any manga (though Togashi took a lot of it from RPG style stuff) and the characters are on the intelligent side which can help be a nice novelty when you come from typical Shounen, including One Piece.
It also has one of the best manga arcs period (Yorknew).
After that, there are a lot of interesting concepts but it mostly stops being a manga and turns into a novel, for better or worse, and the concept of show donΒ΄t tell does not exist for Togashi, neither does panel distribution.

Regarding the topic, i think the forum is not ready for such a question because people do either do not have the necessary focus or interest to judge something like that accurately (if itΒ΄s even possible in the first place), though i think you gave a lot of points to judge a manga by.
Oda has a lot of faults and has done mistakes narratively that overshadow a lot of things that make him truly great and respected, especially for other mangaka who recognize his strengths.
My advice in general regarding every field would be, if you donΒ΄t have experience yourself, always look towards people who others in their field respect and try to emulate.
And Oda is someone who has enjoyed a lot of respect from his peers, more so than anybody else in his generation, and is often named the third most influential mangaka of all time (after Tezuka and Toriyama).
For me, there are aspects that make him and OP truly great and worthy to read despite the narrative mistakes, especially post-TS, and he is doing better than most or maybe even best.
World-building, incorporation of themes, character design and paneling.
Whether that makes him top 3, or 5, or 10, who knows.

Comparison to Lebron is not so far-fetched, not only because of the longevity, but because Lebron/Oda have so many aspects they excel at (Lebron might be the most complete player) but get bogged down by their faults/mistakes compared to other great examples of their field.

No, oda only won the lottery by having one of the most exiting anime settings out there via "Pirates" TOgashi is better cause his universe doesn't have that huge culture impact theme, Hunter Hunting ?? seriouly its sounds more boring, but he made XH look goat anime out there. give the Pirates setting to Togashi he will do it far better than oda.
