So he got a scar from akainu, and one from himself.

Like even cracker cut his haki arm deep till bone but luffy got no scar

Crocodile put his hook trough his body

Doflamingo pierced with his strings

Katakuri made a hile in lufffy

Yet thise left no scar at all.

Not even kaidou hinself was good enough to scar him

he has the scars, but oda is to lazy to draw them. either he
1. only shows the symbolic scars (his eyes and the x mark)
2. he gives fluffy so much scars that you don't even know where they are from (e.g baki and guts)

I still have the idea all this will be resolved through his Nika Nika no Mi.

It was called this fruit brings the most ridicilious power and as far as i interpreted it, its all about Luffys imagination. He thought his has the rubber fruit, thats why his complete behavior and and fighting skill is build around that. So the Nika Nika no Mi made possible he uses the rubber abilities and uses these kind of rubber, which usualy isnt even rubber, just because Luffy thought rubber would behave like that. Several enemies already declared that this behavior is even unusual for rubber.

So i think it will be the same for his scars and injuries. As long as Luffy can imagine these wounds will heal, they will heal. Like he thought his teeth will regrow when he is drinking milk and exactly this happened when he drank milk with Brook. Everyone was surprised, but Luffy just thought it would work that way.

That leads me to the thought, that all scars he keeps are just scars which cant be healed in his opinion. Like the scar on his chest from Akainu, which is directly connected with the pain Ace's death is causing. So this wound is a symbolic one, which never will heal.

The MCs in One Piece tend to only retain scars when there is a notable weight to them. Luffy's scar from Akainu and Zoro's scar from Mihawk stayed because they represent something meaningful. The scars on Luffy's face and Zoro's ankles remain because they were self inflicted, wounds that represent their personal resolve.

Scars just have a lot of significance in this series so unless the moment that formed the scar was impactful for them as a person then it won't leave a scar.

Luffy was trying to prove himself to Shanks and it highlighted how much he wanted to go out to sea with Shanks which later transformed into him wanting to be a pirate that surpassed Shanks. Similarly the scar from Akainu highlights Akainu harming him both mentally and physically after killing his brother and attempting to kill him. It acts as an important reminder of how much stronger he needs to get to protect his loved ones and attain his dreams.

Zoro's scar from Mihawk was also really important to him seeing the gap between them before promising Luffy he won't lose again (I suppose in a swordsman duel cause it doesn't make much sense if not) and will defeat Mihawk eventually.

Yeah, there's tons of stuff that should have left scars but I don't really mind.

The scars are much more a about the simbology behind it.

Akainu one is the mark of his failure in saving Ace, a momento that have real meaning for Luffy and its maked in his body forever

Easy scar are plot tool to determine this enemy is worse and hurt him very badly.

Like oden give kaido scar which it could kill him if oden keep going.
Shanks scar by Blackbeard ache him the most.
Zoro give kaido new scar to show the extreme damage to kaido.
