You don't need to be born with the ability to kill kaido. We have only seen the CoA of luffy, the scabbards, and zoro who hurt kaido. They aren't the absolute best in haki and adcoa only allows your level of CoA to cause internal destruction. So say someone like mihawks CoA would be better than say zoro's against kaido. So no you don't need CoC to kill kaido luffy does because all his other stats overall aren't enough to do it currently. You can't compare the current to everyone else unless you think luffy zoro and the scabbards have the absolute best CoA in the series right now.

Second df is clearly a huge factor. I highly doubt kaido would survive akainu punching a hole in his head without CoC. Or kuzan freezing and shattering him, or BB quake punching him to death. None of these characters have CoC confirmed yet if kaido just let himself get hit he'd die.

Kaido is unique in that he's a highly durable monster with abilities that are at the top of the verse. He's essentially a amped up roided marco who's already really strong himself. You need a certain level of AP to even think of beating kaido which you can gain but no you don't have to be a chosen at birth to beat him.

He is special for a reason I feel, like he’s the strongest pirate essentially it’s a massive obstacle for Luffy and and the alliance to get through not just a punching bag, the guy has experience, crazy base power, op DF, all three Hakis and more.

He’s the real guide to measure how strong Luffy is right now post ts and with the new training, but remember that Luffy is Odas favourite character so at one point we will see Luffy outshine Kaido in one way or another.
