I was just watching a bunch of videos about Loki to kill some time and came across a rather interesting theory from Yakiosaka's channel.
What if Loki is a pervert?
Not like Sanji, who falls in love with every beautiful woman, but in the sense that Loki falls in love with every woman he thinks is his true love, based on the first sight love, which makes him chase that woman until he gets her.
That's exactly what happened with Lola, but when she saw Loki, who already had many wives, she rejected him because that's not her ideal love.
Because he couldn't control his desire for women, he blindfolded himself so that he wouldn't be able to see women and consequently wouldn't be able to fall in love with a woman, as it would be a major weakness.
Gerd recently commented that Road deserves the title "The Shame of Elbaf" more than Loki, meaning that she thinks Road's personality is worse than Loki's, because apart from killing his own father, who we don't know was evil or not, Loki's only sin is that he can't control his own desires, especially for women, whereas Road is a sick lunatic.
In Norse mythology there's something called Seiðr, which is a kind of magic/sorcery that allows you to manipulate the fate of the world, so it involves illusion, divination and all that sort of thing, and it was practised by women, but if a man practised it it would be immediately considered taboo, because the ideal man in Norse society is a warrior, a leader and a very direct man without any manipulative/dirty thoughts.
And maybe that's why Loki is considered the cursed prince and the shame of Elbaf, because he doesn't show any kind of respect for the Elbaf tradition, which makes him an Ergi, which is somebody who has an uncontrollable desire for women, a very manipulative personality and no kind of honour as a man.
