, I would think that maybe that’s where shanks unlocks adv coc but no real basis just headcannon… it being a legendary duel to me there was probably some haki blooming.

Zoro is one of our protags. Hes 21. Mihawk is 43. Zoro will beat mihawk, so mihawk couldn't be that great in comparison. Unless zoro peaks at the age of 21.
31 year old Mihawk was tying with billion dollar 27 year old shanks 12 years ago. I dont see 31 year old zoro tying with billion dollar pirates in 10 years. 43 year old zoro with a black blade isnt tying with vista.

Mihawk is stronger than 4B bounty Shanks.
21 year old Zoro with 20 to 30 broken bones beat and scarred Kaido. That was before he obtained ACoC. I do see Mihawk getting beat by non-ACoC Zoro. Especially when he severely weakened and injured with 20 to 30 broken bones.
So either Zoro is just that great or it's easier to deal with top tier when they're not using their full power and strength.

Yeah, i'm pretty sure you need that to get Black Blade that drains all the haki from you. Zoro still didn’t unlock his from beating his strongest YC1 opponent (King) so far and was clearly struggling to handle Enma so he's not close.

Meanwhile, Mihawk has it and is in possession of the most strongest and elite sword, he also had it with him on the day of Roger's execution. That's some crazy feat.
