General & Others Is Oda actually a god-tier at paneling?

In the Chapter where Zoro challenges Kaido, Oda makes sure to have two disconnected scenes be panelled like this

On the left is Zoro facing right while Kiku's arm falls and he's surrounded by the smoke of the chaos.

On the right is Kaido facing left in the aftermaths of destroying the scabbards and cutting Kiku's arm surrounded by the flame couds lifting the island

Whether you believe in Zoro vs Kaido, the fact that this chapter is where Zoro is making his challenge to Kaido known and then these panels that are like 7 pages apart are made so parallel to one another, it's clear Oda is pretty good at doing great panelling.

Nice catch, didn't notice that until you just brought it up. Oda is best at showing the small details and how they connect, especially when the connection ends up being made later in the arc

You also should have made a poll too

I find it funny people shit on Oda's action, but the paneling is literally what makes the fights super organic. Go back and check Crocodile (round 3) or Rob Lucci (twin jet pistol) or Doflamingo (right after stopping Doffy from stepping on Law) hand to hand combat. He has some of the best when it comes to chaining moves together and from where moves come from
