What should oda do?

1 is the combatant of the crew while the other is the cook
Yet oda loves to put them side by side as a duo when it comes to taking down big arc villains and even putting them on another pedestal above the rest of the strawhats with the whole wings thing

Zoro the combatant dreams to be the strongest swordsmen. His dream being all about strength
Sanji the cook dreams to find the all blue. A more adventurous based dream not really tied to strength

  • Should oda have just given that focus and importance to zoro alone as ths combatant instead of always comparing him to the cook?
  • Its good the way it is with combatant and cook being luffy's 2 main men?
  • Zoro and sanji should both get replaced or at the very least matter less so the other strawhats shine more?
Oda hasn’t really compared the two. Zoro has better showings every arc. It’s amazing that Zoro is stronger than Sanji and has been close in strength to Luffy at certain points while he’s a regular human. Sanji should be stronger because he’s a science experiment.

I don’t think Zoro and Sanji have been comparable in strength since pre timeskip.

Should Franky be stronger than Zoro as well?

Yes if Zoro didn’t train. That’s the point. Zoro trained and was able to surpass people like Franky or Devil fruit users or Sanji while he is just a human. That’s what’s great about Zoro.

I liked that about Sanji to before all of the Germa bullshit came into play. I like the Germa power ups but I would have appreciated it more if he got stronger based on hard work the genetic stuff.

But Sanji only got the genes awakened now.
Before the RS, he had the modifications, but they weren't active. So he was as much normal as Zoro was.

People need to understand that Sanji's role before the SHs....was a Fighting Chef within the Baratie. Him and the Baratie crew were famous for constantly brawling every single day. Fighting is as intergral to his character as cooking is.
He's the best cook in the world. He's arguably the strongest Vinsmoke... except their other science goes far beyond their fighting ability and Judge isn't even Vegapunk

It would have made more sense to make Zoro clearly stronger :kayneshrug:

Sanji was keeping up with him for no reason (unlike Zoro, he didn't "awakened" techniques during his battles or had some new insight, aside from DJ). And like we saw in WCI, he was a normal human (potential) until his awakening in Wano, so it is even more baffling and unreasonable how he could keep up with Zoro who was training everyday.
