Oda may or may not be sexist, but we can’t evaluate that based on the Manga, because the Manga is a product of which is owned by Shonen Jump. Shonen Jump is designed to market specifically to young boys and men. Men/Boys identify more easily with male characters, typically, which means Shonen Jump wants most of the main characters who are fighters in to be male and the women to have massive sex appeal for men.

I don't agree. I don't know why the assumption is always that more women/women portrayed more prominently (especially as fighters) would hurt a series' popularity with young boys and men, especially with something like One Piece which has been running quite successfully for a very long time and thus has an already loyal and engaged audience, unless you're just saying that it's what Oda/authors believe (which doesnt justify it;sexist portrayal is sexist portrayal irregardless), and thus what they act on, or that Shounen Jump and/or editors directly put pressure on Oda.

It’s what Jump Editors believe based on how all the Manga in Shonen treat women, and yes they most likely pressure Oda, editors have a huge control over what makes the Final Cut for the story

I still think it's mostly accurate to what Oda thinks, but external influence was beyond plausible, especially since we KNOW they have "interfered" in other ways.

He's bad at writing female characters
No need to defend this guy

He also can't write rivals nor fights
He also struggling to execute the build-up plots and characters he wrote for years
Nothing changed

The guy worries more about drawings boobs and ass nowadays than writing competent and cool female characters

hes gotten better with female rep in the final saga ig
