And his words when Yasu died weren't "Someone Great just died"
It was "Someone just died"
Respecting death is, or was pretty ingrained/important with the Buddhist ideology that zoro is based off of.
Here, oda just completely negates all that. Makes zoro say something out of character. All for what? To give an excuse for goofy failing his promise?
Instead of this being a learning moment/character development for goofy and the shp, oda uses zoro and lilith to downplay it completely.
Even when the shp fail, they are not allowed to think they've failed. It's trash writing.
This is not the same at all.
What zoro should have said is to learn from the mistake. Not downplay the death of punk and the broken promise of goofy.
