Controversial It Is Extremely Annoying That Oda Is Holding Back The Admirals NOW (Not A PL Debate)

#1
I'm gonna start off this thread by dropping all agenda posturing and saying this outright to set the tone of the thread because it's important to show why I have been frustrated by a lot of Egghead:

Kaido is stronger than the admirals

We saw an extended battle with Kaido on Onigashima against a large number of characters and saw everything he could do. For a lot of the series, Oda liked to have off-screening and caveats so that he could hide what battles of the very strongest looked like.

Now that we've gotten past Wano, there is no purpose to this type of writing anymore since we have a defined sense of how a battle between top tiers looks.

With this in mind, let's take a look at how Oda has shown the admirals so far:
Greenbull and Fujitora -> nerfed in Mariejois

Kuzan -> conflicted fighting a mentor that he loves, not showing abilities on par with what Punk Hazard implies he can do

Kizaru -> troll game of tag with Gear 5, conflicted because of Vegapunk

My frustration is hitting a boiling point because my biggest interest in this arc by far was seeing Kizaru's full bag.
And I feel like I started to see that when he pulled out the light clones.

But I personally (and not everyone believes this I know) am starting to get the sense that this arc might just end with an escape/some other group interferes. Meaning that we do not get closure over whether we saw everything Kizaru could do.

Oda.

WE ALREADY SAW KAIDO AND BIG MOM FIGHT.

PLEASE JUST SHOW ME EVERYTHING THE ADMIRALS CAN DO. I DONT CARE ANYMORE BRUH

This was Oda's idea since shabondy. You could tell by Kizarus attitude towards Sentamaru and Santamaria love hate relationship with Luffy
Dude literally met luffy for 5 minutes while getting his ass beat then came back a fan post time skip. Plus his relationship with vegapunk and hefty title of world's strongest defense he was going to be friendly or non chalant with the straw hats at some point. Him being the nephew of Kizaru then of course Kizaru wad going to be in this situation.

Neat.

So when do I actually get to see an admiral's full set of abilities and maximum combat capabilities?

Like a Katakuri or Kaido situation where I see an extended battle with them?

I don't think they hold back as in they're mentally conflicted or anything, those arguments were always very stupid and didn't have much backing them.
I think it's just that they're not using their Awakening, assuming they're Awakened (Punk Hazard almost HAS to be Logia Awakening imo).

But even if they're not awakened.

Kizaru randomly pulled out shadow clone jutsu.

Kuzan randomly turned into a boxer.

When do I get to see their full bag?

I get the feeling that if they're not awakened, that probably is their full bag.
This is why I put "not a PL debate" in the thread, it's not about the admirals holding back their power level as much as their abilities and move sets.

I still don't feel like I know exactly what an admiral can do. And frankly if Egghead ends with me still feeling that way I'm probably not gonna read OP chapter to chapter anymore

I am starting to doubt it, I don’t feel like the admirals are major antagonists anymore just important side characters. If we don’t see a full admiral fight here I doubt we’ll see it the rest of the series.

Why are you surprised? He was never an Admiral fan

To Linyagy - Kizaru already bullying the SHs, if he was serious he would've kill them.
Goofy is out so there's no one to push Kizaru, especially not number 4.
I agree that no one besides Goofy pushes Kizaru, the Kaido line is moreso to show non-admiral fans that my frustration isn’t a power level thing

Well the Admirals were never truly meant to be endgame villains or anything, so I can see why Oda seems to care less about them now.
