Character Discussion It's time to admit Koby is what Usopp was supposed to be

I used to love Usopp in the pre ts he was the closest to being normal in the crew aside from Nami. His cowardice and the ability to brave danger was amazing and I loved whenever he dug deep and pulled it out to save everyone. After the ts I expected him to stop being scared of fodder and only fear real threats but I see Oda doesn't care about Usopp enough to do so. I don't mind him fearing the Flying Sixx and the All Stars but him fearing any one under them is inexcusable. I'm legit questioning if Usopp can beat a fodder marine in a fistfight, I don't think hes thrown a normal punch in the entire series. In before muh Elbaf cope. I'm legit wondering if Oda retconned his haki at this point.

I will admit I am a Koby stan but he really is everything that Usopp was supposed to be. After all the training and hardships he's proven to have risen from coward to a man capable of taking on the world and to kick it off he doesn't have any special bloodlines, (for now), like 90% of top tiers. He's still humble and doesn't think to highly of himself but is ready to put his life on the line for the innocent and less fortunate. Koby is the hard working man average man that went through the trenches and came out built different, Usopp is a shadow of his former self.

I don't even care about these characters but this is obviously not true. The proposals of the characters are quite different. Superficially, just the fact that Koby is trained by the "Legendary Garp", has a pure heart and has extremely fast growth in strength already makes him a predestined heir and golden boy like Luffy and Ace. Ussop on the other hand is weakling who has to show courage and face challenges far beyond his capabilities.
