Questions & Mysteries Ivankov and Bellet

Hey, I would like to ask you what you think about Ivankov turning a man named Bellet into a woman, against that person's will, in Impel Down,

Personally I have always seen it as very disgusting and so I see Ivankov as very villanish, I know people bring up characters killing people and all but those are battles, and not only that but usually battles in which one side is justified and one isn't, like the alliance fighting Kaido in Wano, when Kaido was enslaving Wano, or the coming war against the celestial dragons who economically and politically act like parasites and push the governement to harm people,

Whereas what Ivankov did feels more like sexual assault, when that guy could have just been locked away, they had a place there to lock Luffy away very well, they probably didn't have just one cell, it's just that it has always bothered me and I recently saw that part again, and I didn't find a lot of talk about it online,

So what do you think?,

I mean, it's definitely not a nice thing to do to someone, but I also think you're overblowing the moral implications of it in comparison to what is typical for One Piece.

First: Your point about battles vs non battles is moot, because the thing Bellett did right before being turned into a girl is shoot a bazooka at Ivankov.

Second: Ivankov is a Devil Fruit user, which means using Devil Fruit powers on enemies kind of comes with the territory. This is something that every other Devil Fruit user of a similar kind does in the manga, so there is no reason to single out Ivankov here.

Well, Bellett and his father (who was apparently turned into an okama by Ivankov too) were former royalty of some kingdom (the exact things the revos fight up against) and he did get sentenced to Impel Down (turned into a pirate after his kingdom went downhill), so I don't think he was exactly an innocent person.

You could see this as a pirate applying a punishment to a marine (e.g.: Crocodile imprisoning Smoker to let him drown) or the WG applying a punishment to pirates/revos (they certainly do even worse with slavery, Impel Down, etc. and, as we saw in Enies Lobby, their judicial system isn't exactly fair).

yes it was a bad thing, but both people there are criminals and bellet was the one who attacked ivankov. It's not like they killed them

Ivankov would probably turn them back if they asked nicely

This guy?

He pointed a gun to a revolutionary army commander.

Just like Kid pointed a gun to Shanks.

He was fully aware of the risks.

Nothing wrong here, mate.

Ivankov used his powers he has to defend himself.
