This is an interesting thread, but with the whole Trinity, Jesus, and the father thing that Konstantis and Jinri were talking about. There are quotes that question if Jesus was god/divine. Like Mark 10:18: "And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God".
Why would Jesus not include himself here?
John 20:17
"Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God."
To his father and their father, to his god and their god.
The whole son thing was more likely to be a term of endearment rather than to be taken literal. Someone can be like "come here, son" while not being the literally father of the other.
This is my perspective, but there seems to be more verses pointing to a distinction between Jesus and the father (god) than anything else, although I haven't looked at the churchfather's stuff either, but I'm sure they came quite some time after the death of Jesus.
