He said his goal is to merge Tengen (now a cursed spirit) with Japan's population. The emerging entity from that merger should, by his accounts, be a so far unseen mass of Cursed Energy. Basically a mega curse.

I was thinking of that as well and I remembered that when one shadow does it’s abilities go to another. Correct me if I’m wrong here. But what if Sukuna transfer those abilities to himself now and his plan all along was for Mahoraga to get defeated.

But i doubt it though... this chapter just showed that Sukuna took a fat L. I doubt him shitting the bed like this is part of his 53000 IQ giga plan from the start.

This chapter, the climax especially was peak for me.

It was Gojo in practice showing what he told Megumi.

Gojo went in for this suicide move in this mindset and only survived because it was his own CE.

That is actually the issue. But we also know that in shonen just when it looks like the villain is loosing they make a 180 comeback with a lame AF excuse. Well I’ll just keep enjoying this fight a little longer.

This sounds so much better than "Sukuna could bypass infinity with Open and was toying with Gojo all along".
There are many other options that are better than Open.
