Spoiler JJK Modulo Chapter 23 Spoilers - WARNING! It's not peak!

#64
JJK should still be going.

We should be 400 chapters in on some kino, lore exploring shit, or on the other side of it in the final big arc.

The original series practically DEMANDED a long ass Heian period arc. Hell, Gege could have made it a bridging series in between a Part I and Part II of JJK, like an extended version of Kakashi Gaiden.

This could've gone a million different ways, but we should have learned more about the clans and their origins. We should have learned about Heian Period, Sukuna, Tengen, Kenjaku, Convergence, Six Eyes, Michizane Sugawara, Vengeful Spirits, and so much more.

Gege set fire to billions along with his own legacy as far as I'm concerned. Jumping ahead decades and adding fucking aliens, get the fuck outta here with that bullshit.

I don't doubt the numbers for Modulo are at least acceptable, but how much of that has to do with anticipation for characters, revelations and resolutions tied to the original?

Gege didn’t even want the school stuff and Shinjuku arc. Modulo’s pacing is actually a pretty good representation of JJK’s initial plan imo

I don't doubt he got what he wanted, but it changes nothing.

What Gege wants is apparently dog shit. That's hardly new. There are many such stories in the manga industry.

Good editors have always been critical for week to week series storytelling to retain and improve upon its quality.

With Gege, it seems they let him call his own plays once it was clear they had a hit.

To be honest

Gege is just bad at the basics of storytelling, he knows certain "vibes"

But what's the point of vibes if you can't even plan out basic stuff

Granted most manga writers are practically just artists who never had to write even High School tier stuff before starting a manga

im not arguing, I am just pointing out that this is likely just his original vision and closer to his passion project. He prob doesn't care about money that much.

As Yuji would say: It doesn't matter
