Lucifer means morning star, the bearer of light, etc
Saint Peter even calls Jesus as lucifer
There is also a saint in the catholic church called Saint Lucifer.
But for some historical and theologicsl reasons the tradition identified satan as the fallen angel (i.e the morning star). So they started to call Satan as Lucifer

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Lucifer is the son of the morning, not the morning star.
Angels are compared to stars in the Bible:
Matthew 22:30
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Daniel 12:3 King James Version (KJV) And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
Those in Heaven will be luke the angels, and shine like the stars forever and ever, implying that angels can be compared to stars, metaphorically.
Jesus is the morning star, metaphorically the sun:
Revelation 22:16
16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
