It's an anti-feat for aCOC dickriders
It's "just" a strong AP enhancer to allow brawlers/swordsmen to compete with the strongest fruits offensively (like awakened Ope Ope no Mi or Gura Gura,), not an autowin.
If we believe Kuzan doesn't have COC then he managed to match Garp ACOC punch by covering his fist with a thin layer of ice, so not really surprising Ryokugyu can shrug off base Yamato hits even COC coated

All of this just backs diamond ~ ACOC

Based on how much damage Jozu gave to Kuzan relative to what we’ve seen ACOC do to admirals

Bruh. While I agree some nameless attacks are stronger then named I think this is a bad take to have. When she was attacking Kaido with all her might she used a named attack and split the skies. This is a wild take to assume her nameless club swing is stronger then that.

Hybrid is a huge boost in stat what do you mean.

Mythical Zoans were literally stated to be the strongest type of DF, and you have guys out here acting like hybrid only gives Yamato like a 1.2x boost

Lucci in base vs Lucci in Hybrid is a huge boost its wild to say her in hybrid and used a named attack wont actually do much better then what she did.

Oda did make sure to give her something though, GB praised her haki in the end.

This is potentially what made the scene worse imo. If she had not used AdCoC, and GB just ignored it entirely it would be one thing. She used adCoC and GB acknowledged she did, but the entire scene was like he got stung by a bee at worst.

Look at how Kuzan looked and treated the body tackle by Jozu. Garp and Kuzan did spit up blood, we just didn't get a zoom in on their faces, but when later shown they were bleeding even more and had further injuries. Shanks KOd Kidd no need to show anything else. Kaidou when he took SKG was offpanelled, with some time passing before he got back up. It's the very fact that the bare minimum in G2 was causing Kaidou to cough up blood that it was already established this is what it takes to get through to Kaidou. We don't know what it would take for Yamato to bleed GB now. Kizaru I don't have a great answer tbh, other than Oda wanted the readers to be given hints that Kizaru was not seriously hurt at any point of the arc.

Anyway, the main point here was the attack wasn't portrayed as anything even remotely significant, comparable to takt, momo's bite, or a bee sting. Where even Jozu's tackle in the grand scheme of things is irrelevant, Yamato's strike falls even below that. So bringing it up here as a pro Yamato feat is silly.

No, of course, I agree hybrid Yamato's TB>>swing against Ryokugyu.

But there is still a certain level of comparison possible and given it made Kaido bleed while not hitting hit him directly, it lessens the potential divide in the force took between Kaido and Ryokugyu.

Reply to someone with a Kuzan is much faster and can freeze his opponents and I’ll make a thread arguing we know Shanks could beat Jozu but will never know for Mihawk

My point is if she needs her 100% max output just to get past mosquito bite lvl territory, despite already using a full momentum AdCoC swing, it's not saying much for her AP. Or GB is kinda ridiculous if you want to say her AP is supposed to be impressive.

She has stronger attacks that can be used in base

Cutting attacks should be more effective on him even a weaker attack then Yamatos imo. Just like Kiku could hurt Kaido when Luffy couldnt.

I'll put it this way.

-best case scenario = a pro GB durability scene.
-worst case scenario = a trash AP scene for Yamato.

Yamato was better off before that scene existed. It doesn't do anything for her in the best case. That's the point I've been trying to really make.
