Controversial Kaido isnt a Bad Dad

You are really arguing that a chronic alcoholic-violent tyrant who used to beat and lock up his own daughter wasn't a bad father... are you?

Was he a good dad? Nope but was he really all that terrible especially by one piece standards

What he did is like the equivalent of irl parents giving their children a whooping and grounding them

I don't think you got Kaido's whole character very well tbh.
If you want to make irl comparisons, Kaido is a barbarian general who enslaves countries, on top of that he's a poor father that drinks his sorrows & tears because of his past (Oden) and beats/locks up without food his daughter for trying to impersonate that very past that troubles him.

He wasn't just not a good dad, he was a straight up bad dad.

Not the most evil character in OP tho, I'll give you that.

All he truly did was punish his child which Is every parents fight

He could of killed her hundreds of times during the times she challenged him but he didn't
you could say the same about Judge

he was so disappointed and ashamed of Sanjino and he could have killed him anytime he wanted but he didn't :myman:

He treated her how she wanted to be treated, just like how he would treat Oden even called Yamato his son which if you ask me is sign of a good and encouraging father
Kaido is a Chinese-inspired character. There used to be a millenary custom in China where they'd want a male baby and often they would commit infanticide if it was female. Not saying that Oda doesn't enjoy gender-swapping situations but about Kaido I think this factor should also be considered.
