Did the beast pirates fight the RHP before? I hope so because if shanks managed to leave such a Mark on kaido despite only fighting him once, it solidifies him even more as the number 1 pirate in the verse.

Luffy x shanks at the end of one piece battle will be top 3 best anime/manga fights EVER.

Neither kaido nor shanks have no one able to read poneglyphs so that makes me question if they had VOAT or someone else in their crew can read poneglyphs.

My guess is that shanks will kidnap robin at a certain point due to the giants not being able to read poneglyphs despite having ohara's library with them.

It is not Kaido top 5. Is just people that Luffy made him remind of. Pretty much out of nowhere since none of them showed to have internal damage until now. Would make more sense top 5 after chapter 1010.

Nah, its his top five. He says "only a few are able to fight me"

Then the silhouettes of 5 people appear over luffy, and kaido asks "how high will your cieling go". Those 5 above luffy indicate the "cieling" as well as "the few" capable of fighting him.

Yet Luffy wasn't capable of fighting here. Not then. Not after 1010. Not after 1026...

that hes met and fought. remember there could always be some hidden threat or w/e because the world is big. and kaido was isolated in wano for decades and missed a lot. but to him, those people can all match him

which to me means he's met shanks more than once, so i assume the meeting before marineford wasn't a fight. unless you want to think shanks beat kaidos fleet in a massive war offscreen and then showed up to marineford unharmed

he treats big mom like a friendly rival or romance than someone who actually threatens him. theyve both done favors for each other when they didnt have to and put each other over the wishes of their crew.

Oda most likely planned it all. Until Wano the arc and Kaido were hyped to the heavens ("a war that will make Marineford look cute", I have still to see that war he was talking about), now that Wano has ended he is restarting the joke ("from now I can start to write One piece", or something like it, so Wano was trash in Oda eyes?). Now he just need to show a flashback of Shanks sending Kaido home using advcoc and the game is done. That explains why Shanks was untouched, why Kaido put him in the same picture as Xebec, Roger, WB and his ptsd Oden) amd at the same time (most importantly) hype Shanks as somebody way above Kaido, Kaido becomes Shanks hypetool. Either way Shanks has already been hyoed tonthe heavens. Then most likely Shanks is used to hype BB eventually or at worst Im (but for sure he is so high up he will be used to hyoe the final villain whoever he/she is).
