Character Discussion Kaido's character

#3
he has good design and very impressive combat feats.

but he is more of weapon than a living being, he lacks charisma, extremely contradicted, and too stupid to win.

-he is a pushover, big mom (lmao) manipulated him into an alliance after he himself threatened to kill her if she came to wano.
-he is too lazy, and never completed any task since he appeared in wano: not chasing after law, not killing luffy, kid, momonosuke, scabbards, kin'emon,....
-he doesn't even lead the crew, instead he leaves that responsibility to the calamities, king the leader of the calamities has shown great decision making, planing and leadership feats throughout the arc from stopping big mom's entry, to deploying the tobi roppo to capture yamato, to managing the crew during a surprise raid. queen on the other hand is an incompetent, slow and useless clown that caused more harm than good for the beast pirates. jack operates under king's orders, he is impressively persistent (zoo) and has show great initiative when he supported kaido against the scabbards.

Wasted potential just like BM.

He has the power, has the knowledge and has his personality. But Oda doesn't let him execute his plan.

Kaido should be much more brutal, putting pirate to fight each other in order to survive. He should have done that with Luffy and Kid or Kid and Killer.

He got some flaws, his personality isn't complex enough overall but at least he does share a robust philosophical view over the world and that's a plus. His character lacks weight in some circumstances however. His power is fine, his design is more than ok to me.

I really like Kaido. The straightforward aspects of his character make him contrast with others. He's who you think he is, and should be... not some skinny, girly ass powdered bitch boy you find in many other major manga antagonists. he'll probably only lose after fighting for six volumes straight, who does that?

I wish he was meaner if anything. Like wanting to kill Yamato. But cutting down Orochi instantly was great. Not killing those fools is also hilarious, and one of the best things was his win over Oden. Tried that no kill "don't come back!" shit and got a kanabo bounced off the side of his head. This guy will absolutely just come back to Wano even if he does lose but hey, a great death is a win, too

His philosophy about death is interested, I wanna know more.

He also seems to know something about the Void Century/Joyboy.

Would like to see more but Oda really did him a disservice.

Anybody with a minimum capacity can create Kaido both visually and conceptually. He has no merit as a character, let alone a villain, and what is worse: the figure is so, so, so common in archaic stories (therefore lots of material for inspiration) yet Oda did nothing of value with him. Just wasted potential.
