like i said in the chapter discussion thread.

Sanji literally have no important plot against Black Maria.
In EL, Sanji have to "fight" Kalifa because of the key.
But with this, Sanji have no purpose to fight Black Maria
Oda just use this for build up Robin vs Black Maria.
on top of that, Sanji have sky walk and Raid suit and he still got caught anyway.

So, this just pure trash writing by Lolda.

Yh like I said in my other thread, this was just stalling to keep Sanji away from the roof and let him get intel about where the scarbbards are. Now Sanji shouldnt logically be stalled anymore so next chapter or in a few chaps he's gonna get away from here.

What is the point of this? We already saw that Sanji will never hit a woman back in Enies Lobby. Oda is literally repeating the same plot point in the exact same way.

Sanji refuses to fight a woman, Sanji then gets beaten up, then someone saves him.

The only difference is that this time instead of Nami saving Sanji it’s gonna be Robin. This is just pure trash because we already know what’s gonna happen because we already saw it happen before.

What do you guys think of this?
This Is the extent of Oda's writing and just how uncreative he is. He had it back 20 years ago, but for the last 17 years he's been unoriginal as hell and stays to a strict formula to make arcs. Trash tier would be to good of a lvl for him.

It's kinda repetitive but Sanji gained information on the Scabbards and the fact that Black Maria's room is closely connected to the fifth floor. Plus, like the Kalifa one, we get to see the bond between the Straw Hats except instead of Nami and Sanji, this time it's Sanji and Robin and I'm enjoying that he has his complete faith in her (hopefully he sense that she was in the room and she'll reveal herself next chapter). It's repetitive like a lot of One Piece scenarios but as long as it leads somewhere interesting it won't be too bad.

Another thing is...... why are people saying the plot point has no purpose when the plot point hasn't ended yet? Your reading one piece, Oda could setup a random plot point and it could take 1 chapter 10 chapters, 20 chapters or maybe even the end of the arc for us to know the purpose of a plot point. Oda loves doing shit like that. We should probably wait until the arc concludes before deciding which things have no purpose.

Yes its recycled plot again, just lile dressrosa = arabasta, or skypiea = fishman island, and so on.... thats lame af....

But on the otherhand
Oda want to show us that as a monster trio sanji can be handicapped too during a fight and have great durability, just like EL he got beaten up by kalifa but still can defeat jabura, here maybe after this he can beat another tobiropo or calamity...

People are mistaken. Sanji doesnt mind hitting women. He just physically cant do it. His body wont allow him. That's what Oda stated in the SBS. So this page is lowkey irrelevant....

Sanji didnt let Robin die. He failed due to not knowing himself properly.
He was fine with kicking Big Meme
Also how this made him look better?

This scene wasn't meant to be taken for laughs though, He looked pretty serious and looked cool tbh :choppawhat:
I think Oda is just showcasing this part of Sanji again for affirmation after his "block" to big mom's attack in WCI
Oda seems to love it, so I'm okay with it as long as he gets his 1vs1 fight after this characterization moment :kayneshrug:
Yh it's cool ppl shouldn't look down on sanji bc who he is ,, things gonna turn around the way oda writes is amazing and I'm sure he's gonna drop are jaw in a few chapters
