Kid is a good guy in the context of the story. He’s basically like Luffy in that his crew are his friends.

It’s just that he kills people who laugh at him and crushes weaklings.

But all in all, his code is much better than that of say Blackbeard, who literally murdered his father and stole his powers.

blackbeard has no code, really. he just thinks his dreams are more important than anything else and will do anything to go after them, no matter how fucked up
