In the most recent opening, you had only one scene with kid and law. In it, they were launching Luffy forward. I find this odd, because given that they fought big mom, wouldn't it make more sense to show that rather than them supporting Luffy? I mean if you think about it, we've yet to have a scene in the manga that really justifies this scene in the opening.
So what if it happens in the upcoming chapters? Luffy's G4 has run out and he just took a massive blow from kaido. Oda also took the time to highlight that Kid and Law were still conscious. Kid even asks Law if he has enough to fight kaido. Law responds with this:
Law doesn't necessarily say that he wouldn't be able to do anything. Rather, that he wouldn't have the will to keep fighting if Luffy lost. I feel like this is set up for something. After Luffy's defeat in 1042, things will look utterly hopeless for the alliance, as this would be the second time Luffy would have lost. I feel like despite Luffy losing, he will do something in 1043 that will keep the alliance's hope alive.
We saw Luffy use telepathy last time he was defeated, where he called the heart pirates. I think this time he will do the same thing and give a telepathic speech to the entire alliance to keep their spirits up. After this, I see Law regaining the will to keep on fighting, with him and kid going to the rooftop to stall so that Luffy can recover to fight kaido for the final time. Kid and Law will ultimately lose pretty badly, but I see this as being a trigger for Luffy's awakening.
Instead of stalling for 10 minutes like they need to for Luffy to recover haki, I think they might only be able to stall for 3-5 minutes. At which Luffy will either need to awaken and fight without haki or watch his friends die. It would also be a good way to introduce Luffy's awakening by having him observe Kid and Law's awakenings.
