This whole manga has been building for the moment Kidd becomes the true king of pirates. Oda realizes that for someone to reach his goals and acheive greatness they cant be some pacifist cuck who enjoys getting beaten in a bar like Goofy and Lanks. The world only favors bold warriors who stand for their ideals. That is CAPTAIN Kidd. Emphasis here on captain since he is the only true pirate in this manga. Even blackbeard and lolflamingo are emasculated frauds who gets easily frightened by stronger opponents.

The thing with ''Kid beats Shanks'' is that it requires outside help/unkown variables; right now, the Kid's pirates get annihilated without Shanks even having to intervene.
How are the Kid's pirates going to fight against the strongest warriors of Elbaf + Redhair pirates and still be victorious to the point that Kid faces Shanks 1v1 ?
Is there a plausible scenario where this can happen without external help ?

The only way is that Shanks decides to fight Kid 1v1...I don't think so...but then again this is Oda

Supernovas weren't even planned in the first place. The idea came up in the last moments. Shanks is one of the most important and protected characters in the story. Kidd won't die but he ain't doing shit to Shanks lmao.

Read again. I don't think Shanks will take this seriously enough, if Benn is as strong as people suggest he is not making it past Commanders like last time.

I can see Shanks giving Kidd a free shot to see what he is capable of and Kidd landing something on Shanks but ultimately achieving nothing.

I would be more hopeful for that if Kidd fought Blackbeard not Shanks.
