I have proof that Kidd has been holding back so far on Onigashima. It’s simple. He hasn’t put the goggles on yet.

He’s basically like Zoro fighting without his bandanna on right now. He’s coasting.

He is not the type to hold back he was surprised that Luffy hurts Kaido and he was very shocked as he saw Luffy using g4 and attacking Kaido. he would have show Luffy that he is an equal. he will be able to hurt BM soon enough . He will got a power up and if i have to guess i would say his DF would awakened , and his awakening would be epic. I doubt that he will get haki power up like he could just use haki the same way Luffy does , Luffy is the most talented when it comes to haki and he learned under two masters , more than that his specialty is CoC haki .
anyway i think Kid with his awakened DF power he will be able to hurt BM or at least stall her from going after Luffy as well.

Kid is not more so holding back he just doesn't have the tools to actually cause significant damge to kaido or big mom. I remember after luffy got out of gear fourth he was thinking about how luffy's gear forth transformation came with a risk.
