well the two scenarios are not mutually exclusive.
he can pull off some feats, then lose another limb.

No shit he’s holding back; Oda subverted the classic storytelling trope to tell us Kid has CoC instead of showing us, wouldn’t wanna question what I’m sure is the impeccable reasoning behind that decision. Beyond that, I’ve never felt like he gets to display his full powers because he’s either fighting people who are too weak like Marine/BP fodder or too strong like Kaido/Big Mom. Given the chance to shine against someone more realistically in his league - or just letting him loose on Linlin - I imagine we’d see him really kick some ass.

Anyway, when it comes to Killer's death I don't buy it. The whole reason for this to be thrown in is for Killer to break it. I'll not believe it until I see it with my eyes.
In regards to Apoo, Hawkins, possibly Urouge joining Kidd... ngl I would love to see Apoo obeying Kidd's orders but that just ain't a realistic possibility to me. The betrayal and all the consequences which came with it are not easy shit, Apoo snitching and Hawkins bitching fucked up Kidd's best friend and in general all the Kidd Pirates.
I think that if Apoo comes back to Kidd and asks to join him he would straight kill the DJ, there's no chance that someone who betrayed Kidd before would be accepted later. It's not how it works.

Some milestones are not put in the story just to be forgotten.
