Powers & Abilities Killer and the Kamaitachi SMILE Fruit - Theory

#21
Momonosuke became a dragon as soon as he ate the fruit (literally seconds after, if I recall correctly). That doesn't sound like failure to me, and if Vegapunk's fruit (not SMILE) was considered as such I highly doubt it was in terms of its effects because, well, it was uneaten and no effect could be studied.
The panel @Zenos7 posted confirms that Momo's fruit should be a failure but I just checked what @Charlotte Horchata said and Momo transformed right after
That would debunk my theory :catcry:

An irrelevant minion thought it was a failure yet Momonosuke instantly acquired the powers of a mythical zoan. If it was thought to be a failure it was probably because of its appearance, since it doesn't resemble a natural fruit. It was impossible to assess whether it was a success or not in terms of functionality because, well, nobody had eaten it before Momo.

The power is way different than a failed SMILE that instead of automatically allowing you to transform turns you into a freak that can only express their emotions through laughs.

i'd guess CC told them it was a failure to downplay vegapunk.

maybe Killer will be the first person to ever break the curse and activate the supposedly failed smile fruit? i think it's possible if he has exceptional willpower, just a speculation tho

It would be cool to see it end up being a “delayed” SMILE but that just seems like an ass pull to me. Also Momo’s fruit acts different than the others because he turns into a dragon and not just one of his body parts. Killers fruit might just end up hurting his fighting style if it does awaken.

Sure it would be useful only if it behaves like an effective Mythical Zoan, I'd much rather keep him like he is right now than make him become a Dobon/Poker etc..

My exact thoughts, he does have the necessary willpower. He engaged a fight with Kaido while Hawkins didn't, that speaks for itself.

And also despite what people say he wasn't mentally broken while posing as Kamazou.
He had only a breakdown only when he failed his mission to free his captain and was captured with him, but the latter is justifiable.

The Kamazo thing is off topic, anyway is clear that he wasn't 'broken' yet (the official breakdown happened in Udon) but the events before that were still accumulating, something that should be considered in the context of the fight (weapons aside)

It was his choice to eat the Smile he was offered by Orochi.
But Killer had one thing in his mind: do a proper job and give his 100% in order to get a chance to free Kidd as established by the deal he made with Orochi.
Probably he was deceived by Orochi because it's safe to assume that the Shogun didn't had the intention to keep his word to begin with, but I still don't have any reason to believe that Killer is a such weak minded person that he would give up before achieving his target.

You probably misreaded me, I'm not saying that Killer wasn't giving his 100% (would be a joke, since he was doing everything to save his captain) but seen the previous events like the beating from Kaido, the isolation from his crew, the blackmailing, the SMILE eating (was highlighted how for Killer that was a really aimed torture, seen his childhood) and so on... well, he was giving his 100% for sure but was it his true 100%? It's a legit question imo
I'm leaving the Punishers aside

Anyway I'd prefer to keep the topic of the thread rather than falling in Zoro vs Killer n° 10000 lol

It'd be cool for Killer to gain some cool abilities but I doubt it. Him coming out with nothing but a defective fruit is kinda the point and it's tragic but also adds to why Kid and Killer really want to take down Kaido. I don't see Killer busting out a fruit ability now but cool theory.

Good theory, but if Caesar doesn't even know how to make normal zoans, much less a mythical zoan. I think the Kamaitachi may be his main theme more than anything else. I doubt Oda would give a mythical zoan to a SN.
Well he gave an Ancient Zoan to Drake so is not that incredible
Yeah, the first half of the thread is a sure thing (the references to the Kamaitachi legends and even the physical apparence and combat style), the second half is more of a 'What if..?' let's say that is something I'm keeping an eye open for
Imagine how that would suit well his already estabilished combat style (buffing agility for example, which is already exceptional in Killer) while giving him the possibility to chose an Hybrid and a full Zoan form which he can use when more suited and to produce something (whirlwinds is what fits the most with Killer and the Kamaitachi) like every Mythical Zoan (blue flames in Marco's case, elements in Kaido/Momo's case...)

Well, an ancient zoan is not so special, since it does not give "extra" powers so to speak, only more resistance than a normal zoan.

I'm not a big fan of Killer to be honest, but I think he's cool enough without a DF. :catrude:
