Current Events King Respect Thread: The Man More Competent than Shanks

As a massive King fan, I have to say that King was competent up until he panicked at the end of his fight with Zoro.

His Flames-On form was invincible even to Enma, and his Hybrid and Zoan forms were keeping up with Enma, yet he decided to keep sacrificing durability for speed, got hurt by it, and tried using a big-ass flame dragon out of desperation only to get smoked.

Of course he was not strong at that particular point in time.
Was Luffy strong right after Ace died?
You don't judge a man's strength right in the middle of an emotional crisis.
King's 30 year strong relationship with Kaido was clearly shown in the manga. Doesn't a man deserve a week to mourn before you judge him as weak? (Luffy needed two years, remember?)
Besides, look at the picture again. Did the root even penetrate deeply? Did it suck the fluids out of King? You don't know that, all you see is King wrapped in those roots and you assume he met the same fate as Queen. Maybe he did, but as a Lunarian who can withstand any natural environment, maybe he did not.
