He's not a great character
He is not the first one commenting this thread to slander King. Better simply ignore them.
King is not a simple good or bad character. He is complicated, that's what I like about him.
On the one hand, he is Kaido's most loyal follower, seemingly belonging to the "bad guys" of the story, and even slandered by Queen to be a "torture loving pervert" though he was not at all as sadistic as Queen, but rather a "killing machine", like Zoro described him.
On the other hand, his dream was to change the world, and not to what Kaido wanted to change it to. Kaido knew he was still waiting for Joy Boy, despite King's claim that legends are just legends.
