General & Others King was not the former Warden of Impel Down

A popular theory about King was that he was the former warden of Impel Down before Magellan, but the most recent chapter shows us that King was already part of the Beasts Pirates one year before Shiki's escape.

23 years ago is when Kaido and his crew fought against Moria and his crew at Wano, and as you can see in this panel King was already part of Kaido's crew.

One year later and 22 years ago from the present storyline that's when Shiki escaped from Impel Down, and as you can see there was a warden before Magellan.

So from this timeline it would mean that King was not the former warden of Impel Down before Magellan.

never heard of such theory and it is baseless, since he was with Kaido 20 years ago and 24 years ago as well , the only theory i heard of, is that King and Magellan from the same tribe.

Also given kaido's backstory of being captured and tortured and sentenced to be executed several times I wouldn't be surprised if King is a former torturer or executioner for the WG of some sort. I just dont know if Impel Down was his station. Also Kaido never escaped impel down but he "Sank 9 Different Prison vessels" so King could be the reason for a few if not all of his escape attempts.

Not whole heartedly inclined to believe this one but its a cool little theory and imo only the ID piece is debunked.

Ok so after some more research Shiryu's Orginal outfit has the Impel Down Logo on it

He's replaced the ID logo with Skulls in the same areas on his collar, sleeves and belt buckle...
