Chapter Discussion Kizaru vs Ben Beckman

Why would Oda make Kizaru look like a buffoon who got held hostage by YC1 Beckman in his debut arc?
He always makes the enemy look good in their debut arc.
Only exception is Aramaki but he's exempt because he went against Oda's most beloved character.
Edit: Just remembered Sabaody was his debut arc but even then we see him clash with Rayleigh and stomp the fuck out of every Supernova there.
Marineford was the arc where we really saw what the Marines could do, though, so my point still kind of stands.
He wouldn't take all that away just for Beckman to have a hype moment, the dude wouldn't have an on-screen fight for hundreds of chapters to come anyway, so..
