After reading the latest chapter I think I know why Kuma chose to become a tool for the world government.

I think that Kuma realized he would need the power of the world government and he was desperate to save Bonney’s life. I believe that vegapunk was the only person who had technology advanced enough to help cure Bonney. That would also explain why Bonney was on egghead before, she was getting treatment for her disease omegle xender .

Kuma made a deal with the world government to give his body and be used and a tool of science in exchange for curing Bonney’s incurable disease. I also feel like dragon was the one to possibly reach out to vegapunk in secret or told kuma about vegapunk and his technology.

One last thing, I think the reason vegapunk was terrified of Bonney learning the truth of Kuma’s past, might have to do with the fact Kuma lied to Bonney about her being cured at 10 years old. The last thing Kuma wanted is for Bonney to learn she’s the reason he became a mindless tool for the government.

This makes me a sad thinker pondering how both of them could die.
Bonney would probably give her life so her father is no longer shackled by her and the disease.
And Kuma, I dont think I have to explain with how much he is doing for others as his own expense.

One of 2 things come to mind, each require WG.
WG has a cure and Kuma accepts to become their tool in exchange for curing Bonney.
WG creates an artificial body for Kuma after he transferred Ginnys disease to himself. Then WG/VP puts Kuma consciousness into the Cyborg.

Kuma was King of Sorbet and is called Tyrant. Things will get pretty dark in the next chapters.

I agree with much of your theory. Although, I wouold be careful of how Kuma came to be offering himself to be modified. Oda likes to write the plot not how it sometimes seems most plausible. 😉
