It occurs to me that there is absolutely no reason why people/islands can't regularly have defenses against Devil Fruit users.

Haki is one thing.. but if someone only has a Devil Fruit, then all it takes is some sea water to turn them into a useless lump.

So... Why hasn't any of the kingdoms installed defensive technology designed specifically to counter Devil Fruit users? They're obviously dangerous.

It's not like they really need Sea Stone. It's rare. You know what's not rare? The sea water. It's literally everywhere. They will never run out of it.

So... I think that's a flaw in the story. Plot protects regular Devil Fruit users from just being hosed down or from having buckets of sea water thrown on them.

Being hosed and throwing buckets is the LEAST they could do. To be honest, every island should have a giant sprinkler installed just in case a Devil Fruit user starts going nuts.

All you would have to do is pull an alarm... and BOOM no more Devil Fruit user threat. He's a useless lump, now.

Note: For a God of Scientific Defense, Saturn really sucks.

What is Eruption Rain? It's just water sucked up from the sea and sprayed from Zunisha's trunk.

So, I ask, what is the difference between a hose and a trunk? Why would the hose not work while the trunk does?

Also competent DFs users are aware of the weaknesses and can easily bypass this. Just look at how easy Croc dealt with water Luffy

Well okay if you lived in the One Piece world, you'd live in a community that would not consider using sea water to counter Devil Fruit users.

I'd leave that community and find one that does if it was me. I'm not waiting around for some Bully Bully Fruit guy to come and enslave us. You can lol

Only standing water affects devil fruit users. Raining water doesn’t.

Like I’ve said, if your kingdom ran into a guy who can take down an entire kingdom on his own chances are he’s a competent DF user who can work around that

That's because they were submerged in it, but pouring a bucket of water over their head or rain wouldn't affect them.

Rain Eruption works and it's no different from using a big ol' hose. I'm sure a smart guy can do better than that.

Note: Chopper specifically said he was losing his powers, and then he said it's salty - it's sea water.
