Land of Waves, happened sooner, introduced a lot of concepts of the story and got the message Kishi was trying to tell very clear.

Arlong Park is cool although again. You won't hear ***** telling you that this moment or OP in general made their childhood.

Also considering the fact that this is Nami's only highlight in the story and after that, she becomes merch selling attraction rather than a character it makes it worse in hindsight.

Part 1 Naruto has more hard hitting and classic moments.

I liked what I saw in Part 1. Has many flaws but at least you can tell Oda was passionate about what he is doing.


I just think that Land of Waves is more "iconic" or "classic" and pushes the story further than Arlong Park.

Arlong park for me

But LoW was great : Zabuza was cool and his relation with his protege was great too.
And many other moments like Kakashi fighting, Naruto berserk etc

But Nami hurting herself, the the crew deciding to save her, Luffy destroying Arlong park doors, Luffy destroying the map room and breaking Armong sword etc

really great moments and the anime nailed it perfectly

The fights in itself were likely better in Naruto for that part (and overall) but the feeling was greater in One piece in Arlong Park.

Arlong Park takes it for me. More impactful moments, better fights, great story writing.

LoW only memorial moment for me was Zabuza killing the Yakuza boss while getting impaled by 10 different swords and spears.
