Many people want BM to survive and then return as the main antagonist in Elbaf. For narrative reasons it makes sense for only Luffy to defeat her, he even said after Kaido i'm coming for you. Here's why this would be a terrible idea:
Here's what he should have done:
Thoughts?
- It makes no sense for Oda to portray Law and Kid as Luffy's rivals and the new era, if in the end they don't archieve anything at the level of Luffy. If Luffy defeats all 4 emperors by himself, literally what is the point of them?
- WCI started on fall 2016, that is more than 5 years we are with Big Mom. At this point many people(like me), are at the verge of getting sick of her. If we are getting 2-4 more years of BM, she will become the most hated character in OP, period.
- BM being the main antagonist in Elbaf, would literally be Moria 2.0. I think everyone can agree that Kaido is a more formidable enemy than her. So no matter what Oda does, BM will feel underwhelming after beating Kaido and Elbaf would probably tank hard in sales.
- After Luffy beats Kaido, he will have finally become a top tier pirate and fulfilled his promise to Shanks. After Wano it's time for SHANKS.
Here's what he should have done:
- Give Kid and BM more narrative build up. The first time we get to see BM, we find out that Kid sank her ships, later at WCI we find out that he took down a commader. This should have been explored more. Give them more beef Oda!
- Give the fight more pages= more moments of BM shining. A justified critisism of this fight is that all we see of BM is her being a punching bag. Kid and Law were supposed to be the underdogs this fight, but Oda is not showing us why. Many people are complaining about her not using adv CoC. WE DON'T EVEN KNOW IF SHE USED IT OR NOT BECAUSE WE DON'T GET SO SEE SHIT IN THIS FIGHT.
