Doflamingo said that this surgery would have granted him control over the world, something along the lines of being able to control Marejois's treasure.
He also mentions how only a few know about this technique, then you have the WG placing a 5bil bounty. So obviously all this hype can only mean one thing, Law will obviously perform this surgery at some point.

Blackbeard being someone after the throne of the world is easily the best candidate for such surgery, and their confrontation just now can't be a mere Poneglyph war.
Teach is the DF master so he must know about this technique, the way he will force him to perform the surgery is by holding him & his crew at gunpoint/ some different asspull

TLDR; immortal surgery will be performed at some point, Bb knows about it and is the ideal candidate as a villain after the world throne.

I'm not sold on this. If it worked like Doffy imagined then previous people who had this surgery performed on them would be a menace to the world.

Even if we assume Gorosei have it they are just sitting on their asses doing nothing.

Doflamingo noted how very few people know about this operation, and it was implied the user needs to be a surgeon as Law says "the surgeon dies" not simply the user, which would makes sense for such ability to require a lot of skill.
You need to know about the treasure + get the surgery, which is a hard thing to accomplish.
Imu could potentially be immortal, and she literally owns the world as far as we know.

I already stated my opinion on this so won't repeat myself but I will definitely add...

If oda and it's a big if here really pulled this then this will rock the whole OP community.

Even if immortality and someone targeting Law for this was always a thing since the day it got revealed but literally no one expected this to happen so suddenly

No, I think Oda provides us this information for someone who is already immortal.

Imu was probably immortal if we consider that he or she utilized Marejois's treasure to destroy the Lulucia Kingdom.

Law’s life is not in danger in any shape or form. His death flag will only start waving in the final war - after he learned the true history and he decides to fuck up the World Government. I don’t see anyone killing Law besides Imu himself/herself or when Law saves Luffy’s life or some shit.

Doffy talked alot about Law being a traitor, that is why I expect him to betray Luffy at some point. When they allied at Punk Hazard, there was even a suspicion already by the other Strawhats but Luffy just trusted him.
