Logia's wouldn't be able to wear clothes, eat food etc if they couldn't turn off their powers and make themselves tangible. And is through the use of CoO that they made themselves intangible in every non-haki attack they receive.

So a 10 days fight to their limits would not only burnout the haki limit that Akainu and Aokiji can use to protect themselves from each other DF power (similar to Luffy G4 haki exhaustion) but also their DF limit usage making themselves "regular" human beings (similar to Law's DF and G5 Luffy drawbacks)

aramaki's potential is very, very high. he can regenerate to full health as long as he planted a seed somewhere in the ground somewhere, so he's almost impossible to kill even with haki. he could spawn adam trees to fight as minions.

its very clear in the manga that logia powers are active. Smoker could not get ice cream on his pants if not. Luffy could not tackle Smoker through a restaurant and into Ace if they were passive. All logias are active-only and only the most well trained logias like Crocodile, Akainu, etc can make it look like they're passively intangible and dodging their body around attacks without effort
