Can you get some quotes? I have not seen anyone claiming that they can literally just magma.
Rather I've seen just magma like flames/ magma esque flames/ magma flames etc.

If u check up the spoiler thread for the respective chapters where King and Kaido used the flames respectively you will definitely find countless. As well as the threads created around that time.

I can give you the argument though.

The argument for King was that because Zoro cut the Magma-like flames he can cut Magma now and thus it's bad news for Akainu. We told them that flame and molten rock are not the same. With the Foxfire style Zoro can cut flames but has yet not proven to do the same to real Magma.

The argument for Kaido was that he was Magma resistant because he covered himself with it thus Akainu has no chance against him.
