joke about her being stupid and her having 5 year old brain all you want...I got the manga to back up my claims. Oda restricting her strength and intelligence for plot means nothing.
The beauty of big mom character is how complex it is like you can write a thesis on the layers and immersive depths of her character:
-She is technically a mother but in reality a tyrant willing to kill her own kids...opera thought he was going to be killed by her.
-She claims to be against discrimination but she is racist herself and has human zoos and an evil hobby of collecting races as merchandise
- she’s extremely twisted to the point she understood mother caramel dream of setting on one table at the same eyesight as her family becoming giants ...twisted =/ stupid
- she will betray and backstab whenever she feels like it but don’t you dare move a hair !
so yeah big mom having the mentality of a child doesn’t mean she can’t be smart , this is what I was trying to prove.
NOW let’s see her feats that counters her being “5 year old brain in an old woman body “:
- out of all yonko she has the unmatched intel network even surpassing CP 0... she knew everything about sanji , secret entrance to wano and she also found out about Nico Robin
- she’s the mastermind that was plotting the whole WCI arc in the background...
she knew how to lure sanji by blackmailing him with everyone dear to him... she didn’t stop there as she was precautious; Sanji might try to escape so force him to wear the collars just in case.

- she’s doesn’t underestimate her opponents as we see when Luffy defatted cracker she sent the enraged army after him and also when Luffy used gear 4 she used haki just in case.
Yeah it’s tragic how she’s been treated by oda for plot but everything should have an end and we shall see her greatness soon.
