Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call
- All online capabilities such as visiting other towns and having friends visit yours will end.
- Online (and Spotpass) DLC items will be unobtainable.
- Tortimer Island, home to random play with up to four others both regionally and worldwide, will be effectively gutted. You can still visit the island alone, but all co-op functionality (interacting with others on the island, setting up minigame sessions) will no longer work.
- Dream Suite, a place where you can share your town with others online, as well as visit others without the host needing to be there, will be shut down.
- Multiple “badges” (i.e. achievements) will be unobtainable.
- Will be unable to share home designs online.
- Default: Friends can no longer be added to help restore Norende.
- Second: Ba'al data can no longer be shared.
- Both: Friends can no longer be summoned or used for ability links (these are special combo abilities friends can save on their copy and then share to others for them to use in battle).
Dead or Alive: Dimensions
- Online multiplayer will end.
- Online-exclusive costumes will no longer be obtainable.*
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past
- Online tablets will no longer be obtainable. There are 50+ of these, and they act as keys for new mini dungeons, some with exclusive content (weapons, armor, medals, catchable monsters, bosses).
- Will lose online co-op (up to three players on your friend list). Note that online co-op will only work if players have the same versions (i.e., those with the DLC expansion can only play with others that have the expansion, vanilla users can only play with other vanilla users).
- Will lose online co-op (up to four players).
- Quite a bit of content exclusive to Spotpass will no longer be obtainable. Particularly noteworthy are six post-game, story-related paralogues that unlock full characters. For a full list, please see (potential spoilers): https://fireemblem.fandom.com/wiki/SpotPass
- Online competitive multiplayer will end.
- Will lose online co-op (up to three players). This is notable because the game is designed like 4 Swords Adventures and losing that feature means you will only be able to play this with others locally, or with single player bots.
- Will lose access to the cooperative online multiplayer mode, “Scarescraper”, where up to four players can hunt ghosts in a level-based affair.
Mario Kart 7
- All online multiplayer will end. This includes, races, battle modes, custom modes, etc.
- Will lose online co-op (up to four players). Similar to Tri Force Heroes, co-op is a big part of this game.
- Will lose competitive multiplayer mode Blast Ball.
- Will lose online co-op (up to four players).

- Will lose online co-op (up to four players).
- Will lose the ability to download extra missions and hunts, some of which grant exclusive items.
Monster Hunter Stories
- Online competitive monster vs. monster combat in an arena will end. Playing this mode unlocks special items pertaining to the Zelda DLC.
- Will lose the ability to download extra missions, some of which grant exclusive items.
- Will lose access to all forms of online functionality. This includes battles, trades (+ GTS), and more.
- For these specific games, will lose access to the online PSS, which would actively update with other players online at that time and allow you to see their profiles, requests trades and battles, and give and receive special O-powers.
- In XY the main non competitive post game feature the Friend Safari will essentially become pointless, as you'll no longer be able to request on forums for a specific type of safari or unlock the third slot to unlock the chance of encountering hidden abilities. Technically this will still be doable offline, but have fun finding anyone locally in 2024 still playing this game or carrying their 3ds around.
- Will lose access to all forms of online functionality. This includes battles, trades (+ GTS), and more.
- For these specific games, the Festival Plaza will be heavily neutered. This location is very similar to the “Join Avenue” from Black 2 and White 2 that allows players to effectively create their own set of shops and services, upgrading them over time with special coins. Coins are earned through a few ways, one of the main being special online missions given out. Content is version and even player exclusive, intended to be shared online with others (i.e. clothing dyes, shop items, etc.). See here for more details: https://www.serebii.net/sunmoon/festivalplaza.shtml
Professor Layton series (Miracle Mask, Azran Legacy) + Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle*
- Will lose the ability to download extra (daily) puzzles. These were given out daily but have all been released as of now and can be downloaded in bulk. There are a LOT (like 300+ per game). See here: https://layton.fandom.com/wiki/Daily_Puzzle_Delivery_System
