Loki is literally giant Ichiji and fans have unrealistic expectations of his strength due to recency bias.
Think about what type of role Loki could actually have in the manga.
1. He is not villain of elbaf. He is on death’s door while the holy knights, who nearly killed him, are the real threats to Elbaf
2. he’s not a threat for the one piece. He has no crew and no way to read the poneglyphs.
His entire character is tied to Hajrudin, who we know for a fact will be important EoS because of the narrator box concerning the grand fleet captains. Hajrudin, serving under Luffy, is effectively a straw hat.
Loki is a milestone for hajrudin to surpass. He’s probably comparable in strength to Captain Kid at best. Maybe even weaker.
Hajrudin will get haki awakenings and surpass him, then become giant king.

Idk why people are all worked up for something we have basically always known (Harald being fishy). It has always been like this and still Loki has always been the clear menace of this arc.

The GF will be important in the final war and Hajrudin will likely be one of the most important members.
He got a fight in Dressrosa and is playing a central role in Elbaf.
What OP villains have an undefeated record except Vistas rival?
Kaido was intro´d losing 7 times. He is still one of the worlds top pirates, maybe even number 1 But his older brother losing in any context is for some reason unforgivable and proof he isn´t a top tier.
