I wrote this a few days ago but the comment didnt attire much attentions:

By the way,looking at the scenes where Vegapunk gets hit by Saturn and by Kizaru,i think they are some of the cruelest scenes of the manga,because,when Whitebeard or Ace died,it was probably even sadder (as they were very popular) but,they were warriors,so you kinda consider that "part of the game". But Vegapunk is not a warrior,and he is also a old man,so it feels even more cruel when Saturn and Kizaru hit him.

Not for me personally. When vegapunk refused Dragons invintation that made me share no sympathy for him even though i understand his reasoning. Plus a few other things. I xant even attest to the fear he might of felt bexause he stood in front of saturn and kizaru wirh resolve.

The fact is he stood with the evil side even if he did do alot fkr the good side. He wasnt forced he chose that. Im more sad that his desth was lame after all that build up. His final message is gonna have to be a banger to change that. But honestly zi only expect one piece value informatiin and the rest ro be nonsense about how people should live and enjoy the world and science.

Yeah but i think this goes beyond Vegapunk as a character. Its the fact that they killed a "civilian",altough he worked for the government,and not a warrior (pirate or simply criminal) who is also an old man. It really is cruel to look at,and i think Oda was brave to show that. Scenes in stories where old people,kids or animals receive violence are always striking scenes. Kinda like the ones in Dragon Ball during the Buu arc when the two killers shoot the old couple and Buu's dog.
