Nah, we do not have to wait so long. I think that guy is leaving Egghead as a Strawhat - alone that means he is not going to fight Sabo. And if Lucci vanishes from the main plot again for a longer period of time without him being made a crew member, then you win.

It is of course possible that Lucci and Kaku sail with the Strawhats to Wano, as captives. They said they would put the cuffs back on after all. That wouldn't make them Strawhats.

Some weeks ago I thought about Sabo. Which enemies he would face in the final battles. Lucci became alot stronger. Currently he is below all Admirals, but I think it is possible that he will overcome that. Sabo, in my mind, will first fight Ryokugyu and then, at Maryjoa, Lucci. Those two are the most loyal servants of the Celestial Dragons. Lucci and Sabo wear top hats, received scars when they were very young and so on.

Lucci is going to be a SHP - the last one, in my opinion. He is not loyal anymore to the WG. Since Egghead he has been lacking in duty and doesn't prioritize his mission anymore. There is an underlying factor that interferes with his duty and personal goals. So many more hints are pointing towards him at the moment - it's like an open secret- you just have to look.
