Zoro vs Lucci is nothing but a proof that Oda doesn't have much time to creatively write other characters that aren't tied to the main plot.
It wasn't a least bit interesting at all.
It was clear since the beginning Zoro was canonically stronger than Lucci and Zoro one-shotting Lucci was very predictable. Zoro has advCOC for goodness sake, the power dubbed as the meta haki.
Even Sandai Kitetsu reaction to Nasujuro wasn't given a highlight, unlike Enma, when it reacted to Hiyori's music.
We already know Zoro and Sanji can annoy each other.
This was nothing but Stall Piece at its finest.

As evidenced with how he switched between 2/3 swords, the new variation of attack names, winning without bandana/CoC, and that Haki becomes stronger by fighting powerful opponents.
