Controversial Luffy is fighting Akainu

As someone who used to believe in Sabo vs Akainu, I can't defend it anymore. If Oda had plans for Sabo to beat Akainu, you would think that he would have foreshadowed it at least a little bit in the Reverie. Instead, neither of them have even acknowledged the other one's existence, and Oda doubled down on Sabo's main enemy being the CDs.

No one else besides Sabo has anywhere near as good a claim to being the one to beat Akainu as Luffy does, so it will be Luffy who fights the Fleet Admiral.

Saturn won't survive this arc. Clearly Garling will take that place, maybe Oda's way of showing how the Gorosei became "immortal". Notice how Garling aged from God valley to now while Saturn remained the same.

Akainu has shown an incredible fixation on the revolutionaries since Marineford, with Akainu prioritizing getting rid of the dragon’s son first in relation to the son of Gold D. Roger, with the recent revelation that Dragon was from the navy and the fact that Akainu continues to confront members of the revolutionary army like Kuma recently, in MF he faced Ivankov and Inazuma, things are taking shape for Sabo vs Akaiunu or Akainu vs Dragon.

Zoro fought King, the toughest in Wano. Big Mom's toughness was 3rd.
Mr1, Ohm, zRyuma, Pica, King... What do they have in common?
Topman is generic like the other 3, only 1 of the 5 stands out, the swordsman.

Sabo or Dragon vs Akainu is guaranteed, Oda isn't going to have Luffy bully an Admiral this arc and then have him fight another one later, especially since Imu is the overarching antagonist, not a fucking Admiral.
