If Joyboy was a buccaneer, and only someone with buccaneer blood could be the new Joyboy then Roger would know that his son would never be Joyboy. But he said that he believed his son would be the one who would find OP. And to find the OP in the right moment means the person who found is Joyboy. So debunked idea

In theory anyone could be the new Joyboy. Anyone can become pirate king and lead the fight against the WG.

But not everyone can awaken the Nika fruit and I doubt Roger knew the specifics of that.

Roger doesn't look like Ace in the first early chapter but later on he draws him really lookalike so that no more questions needed for audience.........

We have Garp who look very much like Luffy both in personality and appearance since day1. And was infact the legit Granpa of Luffy. Nothing can sets that apart, No DNA prove required.
WB has no relation to these two goofy dudes.
And about Luffy mom, it's more likely that his mom was Garp's daughter since Dragon look very different from them.

I think Luffy needs to be a buccaneer and imo he probably got his buccaneer lineage from WB.

Why does Luffy need to be a buccaneer? Because of the joyboy shit.

We know that Nika was a god of elbaf. We know that the buccaneers are part giant, believe in Nika, and committed a great crime in the past for which they were eliminated. We also know that Imu has a giant SH in his freezer.

Connect the dots and it becomes pretty evident that the original Joyboy was a buccaneer. Yet the ideals of Nika are not the same as the Will of D. Kuma was a worshipper of Nika and so was his family, yet they were not Ds.

Hence I think Joyboy carried the intersection of 2 wills. The will of D and the ideals of Nika. The buccaneers believed in the ideals Nika embodied. The Ds carried on the will of the ancient kingdom.

Luffy is the intersection of these two ideas. Hence he is the second coming of Joyboy. He embodies the spirit of Nika while also carrying the will of D.

This is why Luffy is the first one to awaken the Nika fruit since Joyboy. He is basically the Kwisatz Haderach of one piece. The guy with the super special lineage who can only be the chosen one.

WB was likely a buccaneer. This is evident by his size, to which Kuma was even compared to. But more than his size, he had the buccaneer special power of being able to defy death. Similar to Kuma, he willed through getting heart attacks, being stabbed multiple times, and taking a magma punch to the face. Despite all the damage he took, killing him was a monumental task.

My theory is that WB had a child with Gloriosa. A daughter who then went to live on Amazon lily. I believe one of the empresses of Amazon lily is missing.

Shakky is the empress from two generations back. Gloriosa was before her. Yet we don’t know the empress before Hancock.

imo this was Luffy’s mom, daughter of WB and Gloriosa. This is why Kuma sent Luffy to Amazon Lily, an island known for murdering men. He knew of Luffy’s heritage.

Anyways this is how I think Luffy inherited the buccaneer’s genes and special power. This is why Luffy literally could not be defeated in wano, despite how many times Kaido KO’d him. He has the buccaneers special willpower that allows him to always come back, defying all odds just like Kuma. I suspect this is how he was able to awaken the Nika fruit.

Also I think this will add an extra layer to the fight between Luffy and Teach. In defeating Teach, Luffy will be avenging his grandfather.

Yes he is Dragon's son afterall

What I'm saying is the mother being biological daughter of Garp and all three look alike and Dragon being the son-in law that would explain why he looks different from them. But again the mom being relevant has low chance anyway........
