It wasn’t just a speech it was straight up feats and overpowering Luffy

Luffy stamina is boundless so that attack affected Katz more than Luffy

And Luffy has no piercing powers or things in his arsenal being able to replicate that Mogura attack. And Kata is faster than g2 and can dodge better than Luffy. So Kata would suffer that kind of grave injury against G2/3

And you forget the mérienda thing where Kata ate 3/4 Boundman attacks for nothing that depleted again his stamina

And no attrition won’t work because Kata will hit Luffy way more than the opposite, Luffy will go G4 then be out of gas and lose.

Would be long and not an easy fight at all but he would lose

He grows past them within the next power-up
Would beat Doffy with FS and better g4 mastery (WCI)
Would beat Kata again with ryuo training (post-Udon Goofy)
Would surpass Kaido with more g5 mastery, probably during Elbaf or later

He will likely be weaker than Imu though, most final villains are built like that. Naruto can’t beat Kaguya, Ichigo isn’t stronger than Ywach, etc..

Both gears are last resort forms. The only time he really uses them is
  1. He’s done everything he can to weaken his opponents without them
  2. He’s on a time crunch and needs to try and get things over with as quick as possible
Y’all are being mad disingenuous pretending luffy would use either form off the bat in a normal fight. In a straight 1v1 with no outside situations whether it’s kaido or kizaru he’s never going to just jump to g4/5 off the bat

You're the one who don't understand G4/G5.

If luffy capablity is fighting for 4 hour in base.
In g4 is get reduced to 20-30 mins. 5-15 mins for g5.

Because he utilizes more power and devil fruit powers here. Exhaustion is a real thing.

Like Kaidou can't keep Flaming Bagua On all the time.
Like Zoro can't keep King of Hell or Ashura On all the time.
Like Bigmam can't go using her own life force everytime to fight in a battle.

Pre-TS was fine.It was acceptable.You just had the feeling that Luffy had surpassed his opponents

Post-TS is not fine.Every major fight Luffy had help and he surpassed the enemy from the past Arc later in the next arc.

He will surpass Kaido mid-end Elbaf with a good chance of Shanks getting upscaled again

Writting them as underdogs is just bad writting.It makes every effort pointless.Im 100% sure Oda would not draw that Kaido,WB,BM or Shanks AND their crews would run away in Elbaf

Nope I’m very excited for Luffy vs Sakazuki.

I’m more curious if you think Sakazuki can mid diff Kaido if Luffy needs a power up to beat him.

I am not sure if there will be death
Even serious pre Nika puffy didn’t kill and it is less believable with goofy g5

a bloodlusted gear 5 is more than likely dominating from the start akainu is stronger than kizaru but luffy will b more locked in knowing he’s facing the man who murdered his brother right in front of him

He lied about g2 not being able to hurt him when luffy in base was capable of hurting him through his hardening. Him being able to out speed g3 is cool there was obviously a lot more to the fight. Luffy was also capable of overwhelming doffy at different points

Luffy has fs post wci meaning a bunch of attacks he took early on before he achieved it wouldn’t happen. Again like I said obviously katakuri would be able to overwhelm luffy in straight up clashed but due to him being unable to keep luffy down for good he’s just going to keep exhausting himself. Something that actually happened in their fight
It’s luffy’s seemingly almost boundless stamina and endurance that’s going to be the reason he wins not outright overpowering katakuri. With that basically being how he won their actual fight

Katakuri undeniably has better haki, hits harder, moves faster, etc. but what he lacks is luffy’s never give up endurance/stamina. That being luffy’s win condition

Yes g4/5 exhaust luffy and have limited time usages. That why he never starts off serious fights with them until he absolutely has to
