General & Others Luffy vs Kaido in-story perception

#1
I know that we as fans understand while Luffy did defeat Kaido, it wasn’t a pure 1 vs 1, the accumulated damage Kaido sustained and the circumstances surrounding the fight makes it clear that if this was a pure 1 vs 1 Luffy would’ve lost.

My understanding was that the one piece world did believe Luffy to have defeated Kaido 1-on-1 but the way he’s been treated by Lucci, Kizaru and now Gabban telling him not to underestimate Loki, tells me that the one piece world also have the same understanding as the fans and don’t actually consider Luffy to be Kaido’s equal in terms of strength

Luffy sustained more damage than Kaido from Kaido himself

He’d bring out the BG and slump him right there if they fought again. They were in their strongest points at the end, it’ll come down to that again, Luffy wins.

They believe luffy defeated BM too

They believe Law defeated BM alone
They think Law killed BM even

All of them are basing their perceptions on what WG decided to tell on newspapers that SN trio defeated Rocks duo in 3v2

Many characters in the world of One Piece find it hard to really believe that Luffy overcame that thing in a direct battle, they suspect that he cheated in some way or that he was helped, and they are not entirely wrong...
Or they think that Kaido in his last years as an old man had become a bluff, and therefore wasn't that strong if he let himself be destroyed by a kid. After all, it's something similar to what they may have already seen in Whitebeard's fall at Marineford, despite the tired, sick and wounded old man doing too well in battle.

Well, if you ask me the difference is this, we readers certainly know how it went, while people like Aramaki, Kizaru, Gaban and the others feel that there is something suspicious.

Look at LUFFY. 5 feet plus height, body like a lean piece of meat. Demeanour like a child.

Of course everyone would underestimate luffy until they get hit by a BG.

I totally agree with you, because if Gabban truly believes Luffy beat Kaido then he should trusts he’d be able to handle Loki, otherwise it wouldn’t make sense why he’s testing him
