like what @LANJI CUCKSMOKE said, it's like calling pre ts zoro being nerfed against mr1 , nah that's not how logic works , Luffy was on the process of power uping each time against Kaido and that's not easy you ain't getting a free PU without working ur ass on it that's just luffy tards's excuse and while luffy is being power uped ,Kaido got weakened far more
Definition of nerf? Luffy was far more weaken his state was even acknowledged by kaido?
Kaido wasn't nerf he could use all of his attacks, mid fight luffy said his haki got stronger with his drunk form.
Let's be honest how is kaido stronger? His strongest attack can only give luffy a small burn.

So also luffy wasn't weakened since his Haki got stronger he went from No sky spliting opponent to a sky splitting one
Luffy struggled even in that exchange against Kaido who went through gauntlet , and on his last leg that even the fire smoke that was rising onigashima disappeared before even luffy hit Kaido , Gear 5th is a steroid PU luffy is on his ultimate power only his stamina gets drained

How did he struggle? Troll, losing stamina isn't the reason your near death, from kaido mouth luffy beat him.

sanji was nerfed vs queen
zoro was nerfed vs mr1
sanji was nerfed vs jabra
luffy was nerfed vs katakuri
zoro when he used ashura against kaido was nerfed ...
you see how this works
you could practically reduce every fight where a character powers up mid fight after being outclassed as a fight wherein they were nerfed because at the point they powered up , they would have been pushed far above their limit .
it becomes completely ridiculous
You dont consider luffy after a powerup a different individual , Kaido had to deal with far more individuals than luffy so calling his condition before he started fighting luffy seriously a nerf would be appropriate because he was hurt significantly by circumstances out of luffy's control (other fighters), luffy not being in peak condition against kaido was 99.9% due to kaido whooping his ass . ( at this point in the rooftop kaido had knocked him out twice )

its not a nerf when someone's hurt because your opponent beat the hell out of you before a powerup. zoro Mr1 is a very good example . it will be a nerf if perhaps an injury from a previous fight never healed and that puts zoro out of peak condition, its not a nerf if zoro is barely able to stand because mr1 slaughtered him.
clearly a device to have luffy to get another powerup . it was not done just to give kaido a" last W" when he had done that 2 times already .
each time he got knocked out , luffy came back significantly better

its not about the damage they both had to deal with cause luffy undeniably taking the brunt of kaido's attacks feels much worse.
its the fact that luffy was in that condition because kaido fought him
kaido getting his scar reopened by the scabbards
getting a new scar
taking on law's gamma knife
getting cut by killler
etc
THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LUFFY and as much as people want to downplay those contributions, these were done because oda didnt really put luffy to win in a clean 1v1 against the strongest person . similar to the fight with doflamingo where law had hurt him , its a clear asterisk.

but he had a massive powerup which allowed him to win the fight . in many ways its hard to view that as a nerf.
