Luffy gets help from his friends. It’s what he does. There are very few battles where he doesn’t.

The only notable ones I can think of are Rob Lucci and Katakuri.

Other than beating Aces ass what as black beard actually done to Luffy?

A great rival for sure but definitely not someone absolutely needs to defeat st least not anymore than any other pirate that's also trying to become king of the pirates

Luffy gets help because he's initially not on the level of the opponents he needs help in beating. However, Luffy is now a Yonko and has all the possible power-ups we know of, and it's thanks to beating another Yonko in Kaido that he's up at the top level now.

There's no reason why he can't fight Blackbeard and beat him in a 1v1, especially considering his haki feats have been far superior to anything that Blackbeard's shown till now.

Also I don't see why Luffy vs Blackbeard has to be a parallel to Roger vs Xebec. Luffy is going to be greater than Roger ever was by the end of the story, their journeys don't have to parallel at all besides becoming the Pirate King.

I think by the end it should be clear BB > Akainu and when Luffy defeats BB there’s no tension in a fight with a clear winner so another ally fighter should take down Akainu be it Sabo or someone else.
